I do this every year,
Cram a few hundred vintage glass ornaments onto a 4foot wreath frame.
This year Jamie set a camera up at the end of the living room and set the timer to get a shot every 60 seconds. Motivation like that really set my ass on fire, and what usually takes me all day (I guess I get distracted a lot) only took a couple of hours……condensed to 10 seconds of video….
Anyway, enjoy.
This is the most beautiful wreath I’ve ever seen! I LOVE IT!!! Do you dismantle it ever year and then reassemble the next?
My friends would be pretty disappointed if it wasn’t here every December. And yes…..I assemble it every December and take it all apart around March-ish every year.
Tonight while riding around looking at Christmas lights, I was talking to my husband about your beautiful wreath. When I got home I was checking my emails…and lo and behold…there was an update to your blog about your fabulous wreath. π We are in awe of this beauty!
Awwwww thanks Bobbi, my friends/family would all be pretty disappointed too if I didn’t create it every year!
Merry, Merry Christmas! Your gorgeous wreath yells out the greeting! I would be tempted to leave it up all year long.
Thanks Kathleen, I’m honestly lazy enough to leave it up until early March every year. Does that count?
Absolutely fabulous! Want to come to my house and make me one? Wishing you both a wonderful Christmas! ππ ππ
Back at ya Kim! Wishing you the best new year!
Have you ever considered making this BEAUTIFUL wreath available through artwork? Canvas, Christmas cards, etc?
I hadn’t, but that’s a great idea! Thanks
I agree with Cynthia’s suggestion.. this would make a wonderful piece of artwork or picturesque holiday card.
Also, what do you use to attach the ornaments? I assume it’s something temporary so they don’t get ruined.
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing your talents.
Thanks Lisa….I just hook them on with regular wire ornament hooks from Target
I would also love to know how you attach them. Beautiful wreath!
Just regular ornament hooks
Gorgeous – but I can’t believe you do it every year! Is there not a way you can wrap it in plastic and hang it in a protected attic space or closet in the off-season?
I wish. It’s too wide to move……and pretty fragile too. No worries, we about 4 months of enjoyment out of it.
This is so beautiful! And like other years I am so filled with awe and admiration that you do this and create something so wonderful. As someone who had to miss Christmas completely this year due to a family emergency this fills me with hope for next year and what I might dream of doing. Really beautiful!! Thank you for sharing this.
Aww thanks Michele. I’m so glad that you like it. I’ve been doing this for almost 20 years…and, of course, it’s slightly different each year. One year (I don’t speak of this year very often) I skipped the ornament wreath because I just didn’t have the time/energy to install it. That was the saddest Christmas I’ve ever had. I missed it terribly…..It just makes me happy. Glad I can spread that joy your way a little too. π
Beautiful. Were do you get all the ornaments?
Thanks, Iβve been collecting them for about 30 years now. I get them at thrift stores, eBay, antique shops, garage sales….. and friends and coworkers give them to me constantly because they know Iβll appreciate them. My brother used to flip houses and i would head right to the attic every time to check for them. Itβs a commitment.
Hello,
What s the base wreath made from and how do you attach all the baubles? This is so beautiful, I have wanted to make one for a couple of years but I have seen that the pool noodle ones can lose shape and fall apart
Itβs a chicken wire frame and I just hook the ornaments on with hooks. Pretty simple, but I have to disassemble it every year.

Totally awesome! Thank so much for sharing and inspiring all of us!!!
Glad you like it! π
I can’t stop thinking about this idea, so I’ve begun collecting ornaments! You said chicken wire but I see greenery in the video. Did you make the base wreath yourself and how?
Hi Peggy. I bought it years ago from a floral supply store. But Iβm pretty sure you can make something similar. Get a flat green wire wreath form from a Michaels and wrap it in chicken wire. I know there are more pictures in my site, I post about it a lot.
Your wreath is gorgeous. How do you attach the ornaments?
Thank you
Cathy Swanson
They are just hooked into the chicken wire frame. I could never glue them. Somewhere on this blog is a few up close shots of the process.
