Some dear friends of ours recently opened a tanning bar in a building that used to be the Stat Scrip Pharmacy.
When we stopped by to check the progress of the reno, I noticed that the old metal pharmacy signage was still on the wall over the shop. Of course I immediately offered to climb up a ladder and take it down……. if I could have the letters. I didn’t even have too, the landlord had it removed for me. After a good wash (to remove layers of pigeon poop) and pulling out the unworking neon,
I spelled out RATS on the den wall……
I suppose I could have spelled STAR…..but that doesn’t sound very fun.
Kinda “Girley” actually,
Here’s another shot of the mantle close up…..
Lennon, Jesus, a random chest X-ray, a buckle Jamie won showing horses, and alter candles that were a house-warming gift……all set off by the black brick Jamie primed and painted on our first day of home-ownership. The fireplace used to be badly painted lime-cream-yellow, if that is even a color.
Now it is a sharp, not-to-black, Ralph Lauren granite.
I still have the PHARMACY letters in the garage and think I may hang them on the outside garage wall after we build the deck……
Time will tell.
Very cool. And no, star is boring!
