It’s too exciting to come up with a sparkling metaphor….
I keep trying to, and I just can’t…..So here’s the story.
A few weeks ago, we were contacted by an editor at Houzz who wanted to know if we would be interested in being Featured on Houzz.com ….
we’d be interested????
She scoured our blog, we chatted on the phone, I took a few more pictures….and BAM!!!!!
What a Christmas gift.
We’re both just blown away by how much Becky at Houzz knows about us, and the process it took to make a “plain-jane” ranch house into our home.
“Creative Resourcefulness”…Yes, we are both of those things.
Please, check out the feature, it’s a pretty accurate summary of our last 3 years in the Cavender house.
Meet Harley our newest family member. She is a 1 year old Doberman we got from the North Dallas Rescue. She has tons of love to give and she is perfect for our family.
Our new baby girl
Well they have officially started the fence project, as I type this they are tearing down the old one. Pics to come soon. Also I got a new chair for the office. I will be getting a matching one next weekend. What do you think?
Well i am getting estimates for the new fence….one person quoted me $17000….wonder what he was smoking. More to come.
Well they are here putting Can Lights in the living room as we speak. I am sure this is going to go smoothly.
James will post pictures hopefully tomorrow.
Ok, everything from both households has been moved to the garage for staging and editing. There is a small path through the stacks of boxes and limited access to the washer/dryer. We keep making jokes about the show “Hoarders” filming an episode here.
Jamie spent 2 days scraping the popcorn off the master bedroom ceiling, he is still coughing. Thankfully, that was the biggest room with popcorn ceilings; the hallway and master bath are both pretty small. After some debate, we opted not to put he bed under the window as I had originally planned, it just didn’t “look” right. It would have blocked too much natural light. Limited closet space equals pegrack of jackets on the wall…….no biggie, we spend more money on clothes than art anyhoo. The black sisal rug grounds the room, keeps it dark, moody and masculine. Still waiting on the chrome sawhorse desk for the side of the bed, and pretty sure that I will add crown moulding and can lights in the next few weeks.
