Big fan of paint by numbers here,
What could be more joyfully tacky? or American?
But how about an overscaled PBN mural?
Remember my blog-land friend Amanda’s mural, from Burlap and Denim, in her basement?
I know! Isn’t it great?
OK, it seems there are more like this to be shown…..so get ready.
Like this coolness as a headboard from HommeMaker.
Or this one of the Blue Ridge Mountains in autumn from Pinterest
Or this childs room from Veranda Interiors
Not just trees either, how about a barn to mix things up a little from A Very Modest Cottage.
or possibly….another barn, or is that technically a mill?…..from Apartment Therapy. Click on this link , folks, he painted every wall in the room……you have to see it to believe it, it’s unreal.
This one from Pinterest is a little deceiving, pretty sure it’s painted on a canvas and hung behind the chair.
This autumn scene from Design Sponge is pretty spectacular too.
Here’s a nursery with a serene deer mural from the Lettered Cottage. Love the way she painted over the door and light switch. (but a little worried about a dead bolt in the nursery…what exactly is on the other side of that door?)
Finally, one without trees….and actually my favorite. How about this seaside mural from Easter Kiwi…..
Where I could, I posted links to the “step-by-step” for these murals.
I think every one of you knows that there isn’t a blank wall anywhere in the Cavender house, but if there were………I’m thinking cowboy, and not so much landscape.
Maybe like this…..
If we only had a little boy’s room……
Who am I kidding, our whole house is like a little boy’s room.
WOW! I vote you find that wall in your home that would support that bronc-riding cowboy and go for it!!!!
I’m thinking about it…..our house is pretty “full” though….
Nice! Wish I’d thought of this when I was a decorative painter. I did collect PBNs for a while, but have now curated it down to two barns. Now that we’re moving to the tiny modern, I may have to save them for future cabin.
I have a couple barns too…oh and a Jesus one.. I should have some cowboys or indians
These are so incredibly cool!!!
Aren’t they just?
I had to post about them as soon as I found a few good examples….
Wish I lived in a loft
I collected several PBNs for the wall of our cabin bedroom. Love them!!
And, hey, who needs a wall? Do your garage door, circa 1960s!!
I was thinking of a canvas , a BIG one, trust me, I have to find a place to work that cowboy in ……
What beautiful paint by numbers! Must have taken a long time to paint! http://www.segmation.com
Gosh, I really, REALLY love your blog. I could read it all day – in fact I just did! I realize this post is quite old, but I thought y’all might appreciate the cool cowboy PBN mural I painted in the living room of my previous house. Unfortunately had to leave it behind when we moved across the country, but the new owner adores it (whew!) I plan to do another one in my new house, someday…. but as a triptych on panels (so I can take it with me if needed!) Here’s a link to my FB page with several photos: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10152042592911928&set=a.10150261695261928.366718.50484291927
Jess, that thing is awesome!!! It woudl be hard for me to leave it behind…I guess you couldn’t take the wall with you, HA! Still looking for a place in the Cavender house to do one…..the bigger the better, I think.

How can I purchase these paint-by-number pictures to paint. I have always wanted something to paint of cowboys, indians and horses.
Hi! Where do we purchase these? The one we love is a link to pinterest, but not a purchase site. Any ideas?
thank you!
Hi Emily, a don’t think anyone sells these. (They might, but nothing I’ve ever seen) They are done with a projector. Project the image on a wall and trace it out…. then just fill in the lines. I did a similar thing with a gnome cutout for a little girls first birthday. It’s one the blog somewhere.
Ah! Got it, thank you so much for your quick reply! I’ll look for the post you did on the blog, too!
