Here are your Cavender boys working like someone is actually paying us to light the outside of our house….

Mixing b-lights with red ceramics bulbs and tin reflectors…..

We think that Christmas lights look a little more spectacular when you mix different sizes and styles.

We pick up these vintage punched tin reflectors whenever we find them cheap, usually about 50 cents each.

They fit right around a standard C7 light bulb…..and reflect like a little star.

See?

After a trip to the Dallas Farmer’s Market, Jamie came back with green/white kale and red Cyclamen. He mixed in some glass gazing balls that we found at the Wall-Mart last summer on clearance.

We already posted about the lush garland that we framed the front door in….

But we also added a huge pile of pinecones in the black fishbowl pot with little twinkly B-lights inside the bowl.

Y’all should also remember that giant star we made with scrap cedar and pallet wood. We decided to “share” it with the neighbors….Aren’t they just sooooo lucky?

For fun, we used the same light bulbs that they use on carnival rides.

Add all those details together and this is what it looks like at night…..

This is the first year that we erected the Christmas tree in the living room in front of the windows…..

and we like it……We like it a whole lot.

“How about that festive 6 foot star?” you might ask.

“Brilliant, It looks like it came right off of some old carnival ride.”

We couldn’t agree more.
