  1. Hard work but the finished kitchen look just beautiful, clean, modern and functional it is really my style!!!
    Cogratulations, good job!

    • Thanks Bo, I know how you love a clean, modern kitchen….now if only someone would show me how to make some perogies in it …

  2. Looks great! My favorite are the dog treats in glass, you’re right, everything looks better in jars. And then there is your spice jar drawer, last year I started my Archer Farms collection of spice containers, too funny. I love them so much, they are out on my counter right now.

    • Amanda, we have been collecting those jars for a year now. I plan on just refilling them as we use through the spices…I’m working on a post now that shows how we got them to stay lined up so nicely

  4. Such a great job!!! Really beautiful and so much fun to cook in, I am sure! Thank you for sharing all your changes and your ideas! You guys are so talented!

    • Vickie, you may shower us with compliments all you want! We are so glad that you enjoy all the things we have to share….Keep comin’ ’round!! We’re glad to have you follow along with us on this journey.

  5. So, I knew there was a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ that I liked about you guys. I see it in this post! You are fellow Fiestaware lovers! I can’t afford the vintage, but have collected over twenty colors of the new stuff for the last decade or so. I actually have enough that I do “spring/summer” colors and then “fall/winter” colors. I live in Virginia and am planning to go to the factory in W Va sometime this summer. Can you say UHaul? Love the kitchen, love the house!!

    • Thanks Marcia, I pick up older Fiesta whenever I find it cheap…usually chipped (doesn’t bother me one bit) and there is a Fiesta outlet about 1 hour away…I go into overload there and have trouble focusing (plates are 3 bucks…etc.)

  6. Great job, cuz! Everytime I get a new email from the Cavendar Diary I can’t wait to “really” open it on my big computer screen at home to fully enjoy the design elements. The cellphone screen just doesn’t do it justice. The kitch is beautiful!

    • AAwww Laurie, that is so sweet…Our kitchen was so much ( not sure that “Fun” is the correct word ) to do , that we can hardly wait to update the bathrooms next…or build a deck….I’ll try to keep it all interesting for you

    • Right you are Donna. It’s the Bauer, and recently Russel Wright, that are made in California. I have tons of all of these…and several unidentifiable peices as well.

  10. I found your blog from The Kitchn. How inspiring! I need to remodel my extremely outdated kitchen and I’m going to refer back here when I do. Do you mind if I pin some of your photos on Pinterest?

The spice drawer has me drooling!

    • Thanks Janna, Glad you like it . You better post pictures on Pinterest!!! Post away!!!The spice drawer was so easy… hardest part was buying all those jars.

  11. Gorgeous remodel! What an inspiration. It is so personalized and has such great character. Do you remember the name of those awesome ikea frosted glass cabinets?

    • Sorry Katie, We don’t, it was a few months ago..I don’t see them on the Ikea site either. The cabinets are generic, and the doors were sold seperately. They must still sell them, they are all over the Ikea showroom in Frisco.

    • Hi Adam…..It’s been almost 3 years now, Amazingly well. I never expect Ikea to last very long (their old picture lights would work for exactly 1 year then die…every time) But that faucet, that we use EVERY day……is still great. We just love it.

  14. Love your kitchen ideas and repurposing ideas! I found so many great projects, even the garage!
I am trying to find out how you did your spice drawer insert. Please help!
